Girl Scout Programs
When asked “What should the girls do?” Juliette Low replied “What do the girls WANT to do?”
Girl led, girl driven programming is the goal of the Girl Scout Council of Central New York. We add new programs throughout the year in response to what girls ask for.
Our activities reflect the national GSUSA program model and offer girls opportunities in the following areas of focus:
Leadership and Self Esteem
Community Outreach and Education
Environmental Awareness
Financial Literacy
Health and Wellness
Science, Technology, Engineering and Math
The Arts
Travel

Girl Scouts Extreme was launched in the fall of 2007 to provide outdoor adventure programming to girls grades 7-12. Girls will challenge themselves as they explore rock climbing, caving and other adventure sports! Please check the program schedule for new GSX activities. Please call Sara at ext 322 for further information or to share program ideas!
High Risk Activities
Is your troop taking a trip that includes high risk activities such as rock climbing, horse back riding or white water rafting? Prior to going on your trip (at least 6 weeks), please check to see if the facility you want to use is a Council Approved Site. If the site you want to use is not on the list, please contact girlscouts@gsccny.org so that the site can be reviewed for approval.
